Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA)

Applied behavior analysis is the science in which tactics derived from the principles of behavior are applied to improve socially significant behavior and experimentation is used to identify the variables responsible for the improvement in behavior (Cooper, Heron, Heward, 2007, p, 690.)

Considered the GOLD Standard for the treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorder.

It can be applied in the classroom to change the behaviors of shy children Teaching daily living skills and managing problem behaviors.

Studies show that ABA significantly affects socialization, communication and expressive language. Some studies have shown that when ABA therapy was used for more than 20 hours a week during the first few years of life (before age 4), it produced large gains in development and even reduced the need for special services later in life.

Applied behavior analysis (ABA) is impacting a wide range of industries, such as education, business management, health and fitness, child care, and animal behavior training.
